Rainer Kaufmann

Prior to joining Forethought Risk as a consultant, Rainer traded interest rate products for over 20 years on both the buy-side and sell-side. 

He worked for major banks and dealers in both Canada and the US and traded bonds, swaps, options and structured products.  On the buy-side, Rainer managed the Indexed Portfolio group, responsible for the $20 Billion fixed income portfolio at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.  He was also head of OTPP's Fixed Income Relative Value group and was the Fixed Income representative at the biweekly investment committee meetings, providing updates to the committee on developments in the fixed income market.  Prior to joining OTPP, Rainer was Head of Canadian Fixed Income at Maple Financial Group.

Rainer is knowledgeable in most aspects of pension fund investments and risk management.
